Tax deeds, tax liens, "finance with a 2nd mortgage, creative financing, tie up, tie down, flip?

Obviously, I’m interested in real estate investing. That’s why I’m here. I’ve been reading this board for a while now, but I’m frequently intimidated by some of the lingo thrown about here. I’m sure its par for the course for all the RE investor types out there, but I’m a little confused by it all.

What is a good ONLINE resource for getting a basic primer or tutorial about creative real estate investing?

I live in Newport News, VA. Is this a good place for this kind of real estate investment?

Don - This is not an online resource, but it is a good source for the knowledge you are seeking. The book’s title is “Real Estate Quick and Easy” by Roy T. Maloney. It is available in good bookstores (Barnes and Noble, Borders, etc.) It is an illustrated book and does a good job of explaining RE terms.
