Hi Charles, there are lots of ways to learn the market prices of nice-looking homes in your area, try all of these.

  • Find (or subscribe to) an online property info service (may be free thru your local REIA, or your title company may provide this svc free to you) and ‘pull comps/sales’ for different sections of the area you work and drive around and look at what $100k, $150k, $200k homes look like.
  • Ask a friendly agent to pull agent-sold comps for you and drive around and eyeball them, too
  • Drive around and check out/call on the asking prices of homes that are listed; and in the paper

Best of success,
Joe Brillante
