Did you target the letters, or just blanket a prospective area?

I spoke to an experienced investor (since 1977) today and he told me that the secret to his success has been a direct mail campaign. (His proactive approach to being successful.)

When I go to the County courthouse…what should I be looking for as far as information on prospects for L/O deals?

He suggested that I write about 100 letters a week and follow up with a phone call, so will the info I get from the courthouse require me to do search another search on the 100 names for phone numbers.

Last, if you are embarking on this form of marketing, do you have a letter you use for L/O deals?

Your experience and feedback on these questions would be truely appreciated.

WE have just started a letter campaign. 250 letters went out Monday. One call so far. I don’t think that one will pan out, though we will give them an offer. I use direct mail in another business and am a firm believer in it’s value. My next step is to refine my target area.
