myself right after I sent it. But it was such a beautiful day here yesterday with temperature in the 60’s that I didn’t bother to correct myself.

One nice thing about this board, wrong info gets noticed and pointed out.

Does anyone know where I can find information on growth rates or demographics in various cities in the US? Are there any websites that deal with that type of information?

Thanks for your help…

Hi Chris:

Why don’t you try the US census WEBsite for starters:

According to the census data, the fastest growing metro areas in the country are (percent increase from 1990 to 2000):

1- Las Vegas, FL: 83.3%
2- Naples, FL: 65.3%
3- Yuma, AZ:49.7%
4- McAllen-Edinburg-Mission, Tx :48.5%

Go to the “American Fact Finder” button, pull up and read the various reports, where the above can be found.

You’ll find many other interesting census facts, economic activity, housing permit data that allows you to examine the relationship between population growth and housing starts, and jobs etc.

I may be a little prejudiced, but I see the heaviest growth being in north central California-SF bay area and nearby valleys including the north central Central Valley (Sacramento, Stockton, Tracy, Modesto, Los Banos). Reno has potential too.

I like Fallon,Nevada. Top Gun flight school moved there in the not so distant past. We may need lots of fighter jocks in the next decade or so.
