I checked with a local bonding company, and they charge
$15 per 1000 dollars, so, a 25K bond costs $375.

You do have to register a financial statement that
shows you can pay $25,000. You can use your retirement
fund, stocks, boats, cars, savings, etc.

The state of Florida lists a $25,000 bond as a requirement
for a Mobile Home Dealer’s license. The statute defines
a dealer as anyone who “offers for sale 1 or more mobile
homes in a year”. (That’s pretty much everybody who
sells one, though I doubt it is enforced for owners that
sold only one.)

Has anyone encountered this? It looks like a financial barrier.

I would think that you would only have to pay a small percent of the 25k to be bonded for 25k,like maybe a few hundred dollars.So maybe it is not as large of a barrier as one might think.

Maybe someone that has experienced this can enlighten us a little more.

I would look at this not as a “barrier” but as a stepping stone.Good luck!
