You need to find a friendly Realtor who will allow you access to the MLS.

See if you can get online access to your county recorders’ office as well as the tax assessors and property appraisers’ offices to get info.

You have probably seen this already posted-but if you do not have a free title advantage account set up at www.octitle.com do so. You can tell if they cover your area by going over to the site.

Is there any way for Joe smoe to tap into the MLS. I am trying to get an idea of a property’s value, in unfamiliar territory. I called several Title companies for a property profile,( as suggested from one of the how too articles) but no one offers any such service.

I am working with an investment group who deals in a lot of fixer uppers. They are willing to work with me creatively in coming up with a win/win solution. However I am a little nervous since it is my first one. I am a carpenter and have no problem with most of the repairs. One area of concern is the heating system. Is there anyway to check it out when the utilities are off?
Any help is greatly appreciated Mike!
