I don’t see anything exactly like what you’re looking for… The big issue
is to check zoning. It’s usually easier to buy land with a mobile already
on it. Typical restrictions to watch for include no mobiles at all, no
singlewides, no homes over 5 years old can be moved in, must be on a
foundation, etc. You never know what you’re dealing with until you talk
to zoning.

Talk to realtors- many times property with mobiles on it are
considered tough to sell. Find a realtor to do your leg work.

If you just need to find a mobile, just cruise the parks like you would
for a lonnie deal. Or, check with the banks and finance companies for
repos. Moving companies are good sources.

good luck…

Mobile Home Purchase - Posted by Sean

Hi folks:

I wish to purchase some land near Austin, Texas. I would like to either buy acreage with a house or mobile home on it (if in good condition) or just buy the land and put a new or pre-owned mobile home on it.

I’m looking for 10+ acres, less than 45 minutes drive to Austin, and ideally with groundwater or a well already dug. I’ve never purchased a mobile home before so am new to this.

Any suggestions or recommendations?

Thanks,

Sean
