A + or - is generally thought to be in real estate a variation of no more than 0.5 acres + or -. Sounds like the seller is getting greedy and keeping 22 is a far cry from the contract of 15.

in purchasing a mobile with acreage, we used +/-, i.e.
30 +/- acres. how much is +/-?? we wrote up a deal and i was to get the home, barn, and 30 +/- acres from a 46+/- acre property. the seller was keeping 15+/-, i was getting 30+/-. now, just before closing, the survey has come in. the property was actually only 44 acres and the part she’s keeping ended up being 22 acres and mine with the house is 22!! i gave $2000 ernest. of course, the seller is claiming 22 acres IS +/- 30!! i say it may be +/- 20 or 25, but not 30!! who’s right, do i have a leg to stand on or do i lose my $$ if i walk??
