All such notes must be recorded. Depending on the state you are in you may be able to request a “property profile” from a title company. Or make friends with a title officer, or go the county recorder’s office to find the first deed.

Hello!
A note seller has a performing 2nd mortgage for sale. He bought the note on 11/01 that was originated in 1997. the question is the seller doesn’t have the imformation on the first mortgage but have a socical security number for an interested buyer. Do I need more imformation from the seller.
