Have you tried looking in Realtor.com for houses that match? My understanding (I invest in San Antonio) is that $100k in the Dallas area would be a less desireable neighborhood either due to crime or distance.

HI there,

We are relocating to the DFW area in August and are trying to get a feel for the housing market. Scott’s in retail and his store is opening in Grapevine, so we are looking for real estate in the North Dallas area. We will be able to get preapproved for a loan with no problem, but are looking for any suggestions for creative financing, as we don’t have a large down payment. We are trying to stay under the $100k mark for our home purchase - don’t know if this info will make a difference in our options for financing or not.
