I’m very interested in getting into real estate investing (I plan to buy distressed properties, fix them up and rent them out for long term equity build-up and appreciation). My main concern is how much time it will take to manage these properties. I work full-time and want to do this in my spare time. I’m a CPA so a couple of times a year I’ve got deadlines that require me to work quite a bit with little or no free time. I would appreciate any input from experienced investors/landlords. How many properties can one manage and also have a full-time job? Is it worth it to get a portfolio of rental properties and have a property management company manage them for you?
