The banks are technically diect lender and the brokers go to bank. So if you go directly to your bank, that will be a diect lender and they may keep the loan with them. Usually brokers can go to many direct lenders at the same time and can offer better pricing than banks. So you might want to try your bank and a broker and go where you save the most; does not matter if they are direct or broker.
