Keith,

As a start, you may want to check with the country registry of deeds where the home is located to see if they are online yet.

Presently, I GO to the country registry to do my lookup work. Both are computerized, so it is RELATIVELY quick if you know the basics of the property.

In making friends with the people who work there, I learned that I could do pretty much the same work on my computer at home, once I paid the fees they have set up for the access.

Hmmm…I wonder if they would miss the doughnuts I bring in?

Cordially,

I’ve seen several posts on here recommending octitle.com as an online resource for preliminary title searches. To the best of my knowledge, this just isn’t accurate information. I could do a comparative market analysis through their site, but I already have MLS access and just don’t need this. Please, is it actually possible to do a preliminary title check online? NOT a CMA.
any info is appreciated, thanks.
