I would say that this is probably an accounting term. This would be a balance sheet account that would be listed under “owner’s equity”, and would be a “withdrawal” type of account for a sole proprietorship.

A sole proprietorship is not a separate entity, and therefore a withdrawal by an owner is not a salary or an expense…it is an owner’s draw.

I have a question that is not too much to do about real estate financing, but terminology. What does the term “owners draw” mean? I’m looking into purchasing an apartment complex.
