I read an article the other day that stated any new mortgage loan originations that occur after July 29th, 1999, would fall under a Federal Regulation that mandates any single family home with 20%+/- equity, the PMI would automatically be removed from the underlying mortgage.

Has anyone heard of this, or was I reading a bum article?
