Mike------

Get a new buyer. One whose inspector does not do this test.

Also, hire somebody to do the test for you. Perhaps this inspector is lieing and thus allowing his clients to try to knock down your price. Not everybody is honest, I think.

Possible foundation issue…what to do - Posted by Mike

I have a rehab that my buyer got a home inspection on. The inspector took a moisture meter into the basement and put it against the drywall and got a 100% saturation reading. Apparantly, this means the foundation full of water, however there is no evidence of water damage in the basement. I asked the inspector what he would suggest and his comment was that the foundation probably needs to be rebuilt. I just can’t do that in this deal as I’ll wind up losing some pretty big $.

Has anyone encountered this before? This is a new one for me. I have to think there are other ways to mitigate this.
