I have purchased repo homes in Ohio and I always check with the county treasurer to see if the back personal property taxes are paid. I am now looking to buy a home from Michigan and I called the county treasurer’s office and asked about back taxes and she said they have no such thing. The repo rep stated that there are no back taxes assessed on manufactured homes - is she correct?? Are there any taxes that I’m missing in Michigan? I’ve never dealt with Michigan homes before and I’d like to find out before versus later. Any info would be greatly appreciated.
