Mike,

I think you would be better served to take some continuing ed classes. For example, marketing for small business.

They are very inexpensive (under $50) and offer good practial information.

Good Luck,
Tim

RE CLASSES TO SUPPORT CREI??? - Posted by MikeNY

I was thinking about taking some RE classes at a local community college.
I’ve seen a few courses offered and I’m not sure which would be the most
beneficial. Below are a few of what they are offering. I’ve read suggestions saying to
take the RE Sales course and not to take the test. They cost $300 and about
45 hours of class time. The others a like $100 and two or three hours. Are
those too much? Below are a few examples: Tell me what you think…I’m not
that worried about the time and a little concerned about the money. I just
want it to be an investment.

Here are a few examples:

RE SALES PERSON
RE BROKERS
RE FINANCING
RE DOCUMENTS
CONDOS AND COOPS

Thanks for any input.

Mike

They all sound good. The sales person course will put you on an even footing with the sales people and lawyers etc. you meet, as far as understanding about offers, surveys, contracts, terminology etc.

The broker’s course is too advanced and not necessary.

Financing, documents, condos and co-ops all sound good, especially the financing one.

Who teaches these courses? Are they experienced RE professionals? You may be getting a spectacular bargain here, a course and mentoring for only $100 bucks which the gurus charge $3000 for. Plus it is someone familiar with your local market, laws, zoning etc.
