My son and daughter-in-law have high student loans in the neighborhood of $170k that they want to retire through real estate investing. Their plan is to get some rental properties, hold them for several years, refinance them, and have the tennants pay off their student loans. With a combined income of about $35-40k now, and no assets currently, is this going to be a workable plan for them? What are some things that they should consider?
