Very timely post. I was just trying to track down some used carpeting.
I just got a used bathroom vanity for a mobile. Saved myself $60 and I doubt the new owner will even notice. Amazing what people throw out.

Well, I “discovered” used carpet awhile back. For those of you not familiar, a lot of people change carpet for reasons that don’t have to do with wear out, or stains. Carpet costs to dispose of. Make friends with some installers, and you can get some really decent deals.
Of course, after I searched the archives, there was a much better post by Dr. Craig Whisler CA on this exact subject, but since I wasn’t hangin’ on these boards in '01, I’m going to post a link to his excellent post on getting carpet from dealers for free, and how to save 50% - 75% on carpet cleaning.
