If you are not familiar with NYC expect a real shock when you see the prices. A small “piece of junk” will go for $650K or so.
Having said that, there is always room for creative REI. With millions of people, you can always strike some kind of creative deal if you work at it. Although I would say NYC may be one of the more difficult areas as compared to the rest of the country.

Wife may be getting transfered to New York City. Just getting started in Texas with REI and would want to continue in NYC. What’s the market for us creative real estate investors like in NYC? With so many muilt-unit buildings, can one concentrate and make a living at only working with single family or duplexes? Any info or advice on geting started in NYC will be greatly appreciated.
