Thanks, Im familiar with the protocol on talking with them regarding regular short sales.

I’m wondering if anyone has succesfully done a release of lien type deal with Countrywide.

How doable is this?

I have a lady who is trying to sell her house, there is no equity, 1st and 2nd with Countrywide.

She has an offer to purchase at market value, but she doesnt have enough money to pay the commissions, only enough to partially pay it.

She doesnt want to just have the debt forgiven, she wants to continue paying it.

I’m going to start calling countrywide today to see if this is possible for them to cancel the lien but still have the the rest of the debt intact. She is 1 month behind on the 2nd, and current on the first.

Has anyone done this before? Who do i need to contact

Talk to loss mit dept. You will need authorization to release info signed and faxed to them before they will talk to you.
You might overpay and take a note secured by a car or something else for the amount that you are trying to negociate on this.
