I’ve heard from contacts and friends it’s a real thin-margin business. Probably the first properties you should manage would be your own. It might make more sense if you had many of your own, and your property management clients were covering your overhead.

Can some of you good folks out there offer some advice and opinions? I’m branching into operating a property management company, primarily of SFR’s, and would appreciate being directed to good sources of information, including a sound contract to be used between myself and the homeowner whose property I am managing.
