I buy only at the county tax resales. These occur once a year. I go there for a couple of weeks in advance to look at properties before bidding. I usually turn the properties over to management companies. I have a couple of them where a retired manager put in renters and then retired. I manage those two myself until I have enough problems to hire a new manager.

Hi Ron,
I’m in Northern California (San Francisco) and see that you’re also in the Bay Area. In some of your posts, you mention purchasing properties in Oklahoma. I searched for properties in OK last night and found some really REALLY nice prices. But, how did you go about buying them? Did you travel there, buy the places, and wait until they were occupied? Or, do you have family there who were able to facilitate that process for you? And what about property management? I’m sure you have to go there once in a while to check up on your Real Estate. I’m just a beginner looking for some advice…Thanks. MIKE
