Has anyone here had experience with having section 8 tenants in “bonus” apartments, like mother-daughter apartments?

someone is sellinga 3 family in brooklyn ny with trhree sectuion 8 tenants. turns out its legally a two family.

can the owner be forced to reimburse section eight sometime in the future?

any ideas/discussion appreciated. I seem to have a knack recently for starting loooong discussion threads.
