You would want to have a clause in your land contract allowing the seller to convey seller’s interest in the contract (and usually a clause that does not allow the buyer to assign/transfer/convey interest). If neither of these are present I’m not sure and you should consult an attorney in your state. I guess it is possible that AL disallows any transferring of interest in a land contract, but that seems unlikely. I’m not a lawyer you should check with one that practices in AL.

Is it against the law to sell an owner financed note in Alabama, and can the person you sold it to sue you for selling it?
