Sending letters to home sellers - Posted by Shenesa

Posted by Shenesa on April 07, 2000 at 08:33:48:

Yesterday after work I took out some time to drive a certain area looking for borded up homes and fsbo’s. I put a call through to the tax assesors office to gather up the addresses on these homes. My question is does anyone have a drafted letter I can use to send out to individuals that have borded up properties who may want to sell them?

I believe this is going to be a big market in my area due to the fact that I just found out yesterday that the city is going to start fining home owners of abandoned properties that continue to be an eyesore in the community and serve as a fire hazard, a invitation for vandalism.

Much Success!

A LeGrand Letter - Posted by Ben (FL)

There is a letter to “Out-of-State” owner presented as Appendix D of LeGrand’s book “Fast Cash with Quick-Turn Real Estate.” Even if it’s not the exact letter MattB was referring to, it should do the trick.

I would be most interested in a copy of the letter you use. Who do you typically send it to and what percentage of a response do you get?

Thanks,
Brian G

MattB, I was wondering if you could send me a copy of your letter also. I have seen a couple of boarded up properties that I would like to pursue. I just don’t know how to approach the sellers. Thanks

Alright, all I need to know is what the payments are, what it would appraise for, how much is owed, what you want from it, and why you are selling.

Seriously, though, I am not posting it because number one it is the letter that comes in LeGrand’s material, only slightly modified, so I don’t want any legal problem with posting something contained in his course online, and number two, it has my 800 number for sellers to call me. I only get so many free minutes per month on that 800 number, so I don’t want everyone calling to find out what it says. Even though I have asked everyone I e-mail it to not to call, some people have. (I can see a record of any call received.)

Matt,

Which LeGrand course is the letter that you have modified in? We have all three quick turn courses, but have only gone through the Blue and Green.

Thanks!
