Ryan,

We do not know what kind of response to expect.
We do not even know what kind of ad you have.

Whether there is one similar ad or many, my
opinion is that that is good; in the first
instance, less competition - in the latter,
you know that kind of ad works.

I would not (directly) compensate a Realtor
even if that were legal in my state. The ones
who Get It (the power of paper in a real estate
transaction), will be well compensated by way
of more closed deals, more commissions, more
happy customers, more referrals, more closed
deals, more commissions…

And more commissions.

I am a beginner in this field and am trying to take my first step. I am thinking of placing an ad in a major city newspaper, but am unsure what to expect as far as a response. Does anyone have a rough estimate, maybe 1, 2, or 3 responses/day? I have only seen one other ad in this paper that is similar to what I would be doing. Is this good or bad? Lastly, as far as using realtors as a source to find notes. Do you compensate them in any way? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.
