Sharing thoughts at Thanksgiving… - Posted by Ed Garcia

THANKSGIVING, AND FAMILY?.

Being a slow day, and the day before thanksgiving.

I thought I’d share some warm thoughts.

Thoughts of loving , and caring.

Now if you are asking yourself, what does this have to do with creative
real-estate? My answer is more than you can imagine.

Family and caring, is very important to our business. To be honest with
you, it happens to be my motivation.

I think that we need to never make our family feel that they come after
our business. Many times we lose sight of how important our family is
to us, and get caught up in deal making and business in general.
I’m sorry to say, I speak from experience.

So I say to you, put your life in it’s proper perspective. Try to make sure
that even though you must be some what of a workaholic, don’t do it at
your families expense. With a little thought, and a certain amount of
organization, you can live your life with balance and prosperity.

When your family life is in tact, you won’t be walking around with a
feeling of guilt because you didn’t give your time to your family as
they so deservedly need. I wouldn’t want you to wake up in a house
full of strangers.

And don’t forget that wonderful lady, it’s because of her you have a family.
It’s so important you show her the love, respect, and consideration that
she needs, and in return she will give you the support that you need.

In our business there are risks, in our relationships they exist as well.

Tonight I feel melancholy:

Because of that I will share with you , the RISK OF LOVE:

As I stood at the airport, waiting for the plane to bring my wife
back from Las Vegas, I thought of the frightful risk involved in loving.

If the plane had crashed, most of myself would have gone down with it.
And yet there is no way to love with out risk.

When you commit yourself to another, when that other becomes an
integral part of yourself. You’ve made yourself infinitely more
vulnerable to the cold hand of fate.

Yet, unless you are willing to accept the fact, that in loving, you leave
yourself wide open to disappointment and disaster, you’ll never escape
from the web, of your own selfish ego.

Something to share.

Happy THANKSGIVING?..

Thanks for sharing that. It was quite moving for me to read it. Balance is very important which many of us have learned the hard way, unfortunately.
