Taking the plunge to fulltime. Wish me luck… - Posted by DanM(OR)

guys! I know this has been posted hundreds of times since I have been here. It was also debated here a while back for Anon.

Well, its me this time. I have finally decided that I can not afford to keeping working in Corporate America. Its really a life of scarcity. I am done with it.

I have a meeting today or Monday with the president. I am laying down the line. Basically, we can do this nicely. Which means I require a raise and more time off while I train my replacement. Or we can do this not so nicely.
We will see what happens.

I have taken control of the things I can change and excited about the future.

Wish me luck guys!

Your friend in Oregon,

Dan Matejsek

Dan,

Congrats. The only thing I’ll wish you luck on is getting some sleep between now and when you talk w/ the president!

You’ll do great.

I’m proud of you, brother.

I’ll be just over the mountain if you get discouraged. I guarantee I won’t let you back out now! You’re committed!

Looks like I might have to make a trip over the pass to celebrate with a round or 2 of golf…you’ll be having a lot more free time soon!

Congrats-
Nate

P.S. Forget the raise…you just gave yourself a BIG one!

Dan,

I am envious of you buddy! I’d be right there with you if Uncle Sam didn’t have a noose around my neck for another 5 years. Set down a great path in which many can follow.

I look forward to hearing about your roaring success. Crank your business up to Mach 3. Keep in touch and let us know how things are going.

pat your self on the back for the effort, not the results. the effort is the most important thing. no, patting yourself on the back is the most important thing. And while you’re patting yourself o n the back, you say to yoursel out loud,“good job, good job”.

Wow, that is impressive. It isn’t often someone will take a stand for themselves. Congratulations on your courage to put yourself number one! I look forward to interacting with you more in the “free world”!

I like the fact that you are now standing in a position of power. Not many workers get to do this…mostly through their own lack of understanding/education. Let us know how the meeting turns out.

Good luck, Dan!

Dan,
I’m sorry we didn’t have a chance to talk in Atlanta, but I know from reading your posts you’ll do fine. I think it’s great for you and I’m happy to hear it because we haven’t had any “full-time” announcements in a while. Hopefully, I won’t be too far behind…
