Tax records - what does c/o mean? - Posted by Doone

One may be the owner, the other may be the mortgage company (probably a private mortgage in this case) I hold a mortgage on a property, escrow the taxes as part of the mortgage payment and have the tax bills sent directly to me so there won’t be any delinquency. This could be one of many possibilities.

While looking through tax records I came across a lot of out of state ones that looked like:

Mrs. Ford
c/o Anita Baker
street
out of state address

What is this?

Understand the c/o, but who lives in the house? Relatives? Why would there be 2 names on the tax bill?
