Different parts of the country may vary, depending on how bad the termites are in the area. In my area it doesn’t need to be treated if the home is structuraly sound and there is no indication of activity. Disclose everything done. Call some local lenders and ask them, that should give you a good idea. You may want to use the same company that inspected it before, if you got one. Sometimes they will give you a break on price since it already measured and they may only have to write up a statement saying damage was fixed.
To all a question.
I’ve rehabbing a house which has prior termite damage. The house was treated in the past and is clean now. After I repair all the damage, I’m going to sell. My question is about the termite inspection the future buyer’s bank will require. Will this inspection note the termite damage and require me to treat it? Should I have it inspected now and show the documentation prior to their inspection.
Thanks in advance for any comments,
Charlie
