Is there some allusion I’m missing when someone writes “JOB” or “J.O.B.” instead of the conventional way of spelling it?

I’ve looked through lots of literature and haven’t picked it up yet…

Sorry in advance for newbie naivety…s

Ok Steve, I believe this is a “LeGrandism”.

JOB, or J.O.B. (pronounced jay oh bee), is the way you say that nasty word without actually having to let it fall from your lips.

Not sure who started it, but J.O.B. stands for Just Over Broke.
