You can get a “property profile” from an escrow company. They were free, haven’t checked recently. Shows all known liens against property, but they don’t guarantee it (as would a preliminary report that you pay for does).

Has anyone bought properties at the steps? Do you do a title search and get a report before you decide to bid? Who do you use to get the title report for you? Do they charge you for the report if you end up not purchasing the property at the steps?
I have an escrow officer on my team who will do this, but if I don’t buy the property, I get charged $200 for the report.
