at Home Depot and remove the offending root // cement,
re-pore cement with reinforcing rods // steel. Can you sue for damages? hmmm did you EVER COMPLAIN? to the offending neighbor? and what did they say? (Oh, only use the saw on your property, no mater what the provocation!?)

Hello
Another problem to solve.
Does anyone have any ideas about what action can be taken for damage caused by the roots of a huge tree in a neighbors yard that causes the cement floor in your garage to rise and split open. or hypothetically if the same damage happens to your house. If the neighbor won’t do anything what can you do? Does anyone know of any books or computer sites that might give insight into what action to take if there is root damage to a garage or home to lessen or eliminate root damage?
Thanks
Don

A root barrier is designed to do just that. Basically it’s a subsurface concrete wall approx. 3 feet deep and however long is necessary, placed between the home and the offending tree.
