Texas is not a certificate state. The sheriff’s deed to the property goes to the highest bidder on the court house steps. Best advise- read the property code and go there on the first tuesday of the month. The sheriff’s deputy normally stands by the bulletin board on the west side of the south entrance at the top of the stairs. In the past you could buy tax property for 25 to 40% nowdays they are running much higher. Each one is its own story, including some that you don’t buy. A little long to go into here.
