Use The MLS to Sell It? - Posted by EmersonD

Here in Mineapolis, all I do is show my agent the
contract and he lists it for me.

HOwever, I find it best to sell using the newspapers and shop for homes using the MLS.

Some people might have different experience.

Is it legal to go into a listing agreement with a realtor to sell a house and put it in the MLS, if you are only in contract to buy?

If not, how can I use a Realtor to sell and show a house that im in contract with?

Thanks,
Emerson

The contract I use has specific language allowing me to list, advertise, sell, et al. If you’re worried, I would get the seller to sign an addendum giving you the rights you want.

It’s best to not use an agent to sell whenever possible. The commission you save is alot of your profit. Find your own buyers. If it’s a good deal you don’t need an agent to list it for you.
