Two good ways I know of.

First, ask the neighbors. A lot of times at least one neighbor will know where they came from when they moved in, and where their family lives - which is probably where they are at if they aren’t paying their mortgage.

Secondly, look up the property in the MLS and see if it was sold to the current owners through a Realtor. If so, contact the Realtor and see if they can remember anything about the owners - where they’re from, where their family lives, etc. Let them know you’re looking to buy the property. Ask the Realtor if he/she knows any previous contact # for them, or contact # for their family. Suggest to the Realtor he/she contacts them and lets them know she may have an interested Buyer. Obviously you’d have to offer a fee to the Realtor if he/she helps with the house purchase and it closes.
Just some thoughts,
Hope it helps.
Thanks,
Chireen
