Great these sound like good ideas. JohnBoy, I’ll have to remember that one. I was recommended this CPA by a loan officer and he said the guy is really sharp and knows his stuff. He does own investment properties, but I’m guessing rentals rather than flipping. Thanks again for your help. -Brett (Ohio)

I would like to have some more knowledge on RE taxes before I go pay this CPA big bucks to tell me just the basics. Can someone point me in the right direction on finding more info on RE tax laws for Ohio or fill me in on some of the basics? I’m mainly worried about what the best ways to avoid unnecessary taxes is on flipping properties and how to know what I’ll owe.
WHAT ARE SOME GOOD QUESTIONS FOR INTERVIEWING A CPA?

Ask them if they own Real Estate?
How much does he pay a year in Taxes?

Also know what your plan is before you go sit down to meet with them. If they reccommend a this entity or that setup without knowing what your plan is … as Johnboy said walk away.

Ask one question.

What is 1 + 1 = ???

The answer from the CPA should be:

How much do you want it to be?

If he answrs correctly continue, otherwise get up and walk away. LOL
