Any thoughts on Indy and Cincy? - Posted by Mike

Have you read Ray’s course? He discussed demographic, employment
trends, etc.

I was looking at the Census info for the Dayton-Springfield metro area.
One set of numbers that caught my attention is the population stats
for the last 40+ years and for the next 30 or so. It seems that the
population peaked in the 1960’s and is projected to continue going
down until 2030 if my member is correct. Only slight declines from
here forward but not a rise.

When investing in residential property you need to consider the
existing stock, the population trends, the income levels and sources of
employment among other things.

Hi.

I’m trying to find a good market in which to invest in a multifamily property. I know I need to do my own legwork, but I’m just wondering what you all think of Indianapolis and Cincinnati. I believe Cincy has recently had a number of investors seeking cash-flow, but I also heard the economy there isn’t great. Not sure what to make of Indy right now.

Any thoughts?
Thanks.
