Every deal stands on it’s own when big builder’s develope lots the do it with one corp and then build the homes with another. This keeps their deals clean and they dont have to show the carry of the land cost’s on the books of the building company. In general most developers shoot for 40% profit and builders 10% to 20% depending on if they are doing subdivisions or 10 homes a year. The subdivision builders with their high carry charges and advertising are lucky to make 10% net
