BoY: My experience so far is that 95% of REOs are listed with RE agents and the MLS. However, some major finance companies do have lists of what’s available, such as Countrywide, etc. Check the archives on this site for info on “finding REOs” or “REO listings.” You’ll find lots of commentary and people’s experience investing in REOs.

Hi,

where can I find a listing of properties owned by the bank that is for sale? Or is there such thing?

Kristine is correct, check with your local RE agent. A lot of these companies write mortgages nationwide and are clueless about the laws in each particular state, so they just dump it off on any agent willing to get involved with it. Any office should be able to provide you with a list of properties regardless of who the listing broker is.
