Glazing is a quick solution, but not permanent. Looks great when its done, but if someone washes a big dog in the tub it will scuuff and scratch. It also can not be scoured like the original pocelain if calcium buildup needs to be cleaned.
If you are just unlaoding the place, go for it, but get a pro to do the work, they may give you a limited warranty. If you are keeping it then you are better doing it right the first time and not having to worry about it any more.
Anyone ever had a bathtub or tile reglazed? I am preparing to sell a house which has faded tiles and tub. I would like to know if the reglazing kits are any good or if reglazing specialists are worth the cost and if quality is good?
matrox
I’ve had it done on a rehab,Turned out great.
I do however recomend a specialist, I did the tile walls, floor, tub, sink and toilet. and it was beatiful
I did use colors, white is cheaper.
The guy sprayed 17 coats on it , and it does’nt chip unless you drop something very heavy on it.
Total cost about $500.00 for all, but like i said i used colors, the guy said a tub cost about $150.00 for white, sinks about $75.00 for white, same for toilets.
