I am just getting into the game and after college graduation in one year may be looking at relocation for a job. I am interested in part time investing in addition to my professional work. My question is- are some states more desireable from the perspective of the RE investor for resons such as better tax benefits, landlord laws, etc. I know for example that MA has strict tenant laws that limit the rights of the landlord more than in most other states. Can anyone advise on this topic ? I am particularly interested in the investment climates in New England, Virginia, NC, NY state and Florida especially the SE and SW coasts. Thanks for your input.
