I’ve been a Real Estate Broker in San Diego Ca since 1968 and the single best, most effective and least expensive way I have found to generate leads is through asking for referrals. Ask previous clients and current aquaintances a simple question. “Who do you know who’s thinking of moving?” You might want to do some warm up before broaching the question. A back up question might be, “who do you know who is looking for a Real Estate investment?”

If you are new in the business and don’t have old clients, get some lined paper and start writing the names of people you know. Don’t stop until you have at least 100. Don’t worry about where they live, or their phone numbers. Then, go back and get their addresses phone numbers and, or their e-mail addresses. Then, call them, write them, e-mail them, explain you are in the business and need their help. Then ask them who do they know who may be thinking of moving.

If you can’t generate a list of 100 names, or, if you draw a blank on that list, go out in your neighborhood and great people. Give them your card. Tell them about your service. Ask questions leading to getting a lead. Ask for their phone number so you can check back with them. Then call them every month to 6 weeks.
