I’m in the process of putting together a contract for contractors. I think it is will be much easier to have every detail in black and white to prevent arguments and disagreements.

What I would love to hear from the board are some ideas for the contract. Things that should be included. I’m sure with the combined experience of the board there would be some good ideas.

I’ve already gotten a couple from you.

  1. Completion date -with penalty for overdue and bonus for early.
  2. Specific detailed descriptions broken down by room.
  3. specification that all permits / licenses / required will be paid by contractor.
  4. unexpected costs to be covered by contractor

Please some more ideas.

My Public Library has several books about dealing with general contractors and subs that include sample contracts. Your’s may have similar info.
