Iam an RE investor in NY I don’t have my contractors license in NY because I only do work on property I own so I don’t need it, however I also sell Engineered building systems, and I have sold quite a few in Fla and I would sell a lot more if I could put them up. I have a crew of guys that would do it, all experienced framers however I am not so sure of the licensing requirements in Fla, and how long it takes.

Not sure if this is an RE question , but thought I give it a try here.

Think you will need a g/c license. ALL licensing in FL is tough if yu want it to be. It takes a total of 14 hours of testing for any required trade. There are 4 hours of trade related questins and the rest is IRS, workmans’ comp. bookkeeping, depreciation, equipment rental, rigging, insurance, record keeping, disability laws, etc. Pretty difficult. The tests are geared for a 30% pass rate. There are many schools that can teach you the art of test taking. I would recommend that you reaserch that aspect.
