How about using the “Marshall $ Swift Home Repair and Remodeling Cost Guide”. Sells for about $30 and available from Amazon and others.

This is updated every year or 2. It gives breakdowns of most typical repair/remodel projects, including labor, and in the back of the book is a table to adjust by geographic area by ZIP code.

For example:
Drywall, economy quality, small room (48-80 sq ft)
$400. Zipcode 582xx multiply by .86 Estimated cost $344.

Get your money, then find someone who will do it for less.

Hope this helps.

Anyone have a tried a nearly true way of estimating repairs? I’m okay with carpets, roofs and paint, but what about bathrooms, landscaping, foundations, sheet rock, etc?..

Of course as wholsalers we don’t have to be right on, just reasonably close, and that’s all I’m asking for. Can any pros share your techniques? Thanks in advance!!
