have you tried the Marshall and Swift Book for Estimating costs. (Home Repair and Remodel Cost Guide). It’s a pretty good reference with regional factors built in to cover differences in costs.

I would like to learn how to walk in a house and estimate the cost to completely rehab it. I have made some costly mistakes because of my weakness in this area. Can someone please advise some recommended reading or system.
