I believe that that would be against the terms of service, and possibly against the law in some areas. Kind of like tapping into the next door neighbor’s cable with or without permission. They were prosecuting that in CA a few years ago.
For Internet, though, if you had an “open” WiFi connection that you forgot to secure in the building…

Just wondering, if anyone has gotten some kind of package deal for cable and internet access for their building and then given tenants the chance to be added for a fee? With cable tv being considered such a basic necessity, for even the poorest families, it seems. I would think that that would be a good way to increase the revenue for a multi-family bldg with low cashflow.

Yes, I had a client do that but you need enough units to make it worthwhile. Not exact figures but at the time he got a master account where he paid e.g. $10 a unit, retail value was $20 a unit, tenant could pay $15 a unit. Landlord made money, tenant saved money.
